Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience over the past few months. We have been working
really hard to get SplashID 4 out to BlackBerry and Windows Mobile users,
and you have had to wait for an update to the Palm product.

Well, we finally have it, version 4.1, with the following changes:

SplashID desktop:
- Sorting under tree branches is fixed
- Search options added to the Options dialog - now you can select to search
in Field 1 or All fields
- Default backup path corrected to My Documents\SplashData\SplashID\Backup\

SplashID handheld:
- Lookup Fields preferences added to Prefs menu - now you can speed up your
searching by only searching on a single field (like the old days, but
better)

Try it out, and let me know if you have any issues:

PS. Mac version 4 is coming along nicely. Beta soon.

My eyes are not what they used to be. I would like to be able to make the
characters larger but I can't find any way to do this. Is there a way or do
we need an enhancement?

Thanks

Hi Rich,

Sorry, there are no Font preferences built into SplashShopper, so it just
pulls them from the system preferences as far as I know.

So far things are generally fine with the new features working as detailed.
The desktop doesn't hang when I do a search. There is one small problem that
I with desktop. My database has a time field. When I have a record with
the time set to "no time" it changes to the current time after performing a
"copy to new record" function.

Veteran computer, Palm, SplashID user.
Newbie SplashID "Beta" user.

2 Quick questions - when starting the install process, Installshied
reports "This version already installed" and prompts me to remove or
reinstall. Is this prompt expected? And am I to assume I want to
reinstall to ensure all data comes forward?

Yes, you should select Reinstall.

Your data will remain intact, though it is always wise to export a backup
before any update:

File > Export > SplashID vID

export a backup
Export a backup? Why export a backup when there is an actual "Backup"
option on the same menu?

I'm one of the odd folks that actually does backups so I have several
layers of backups for Windows and Palm data. That said, thanks for the
reminder.

Bill,

You are right - it does the same thing. I have been saying File > Export >
SplashID vID for too long.
