Ann,
On second step after the SplashIDDatabase.sdb file is renamed to
SplashIDDatabasesdb.bad, does the SplashID desktop open or crash? If it
opens with no problem, it leads me to believe that there is a bad record
that causes a problem for the desktop, but not on your device. I would need
more information to figure out how to isolate the bad record.
How many record do you have?
Aaron

Just to be sure, I did it twice and both times I get the same crash. Yes, I
did each step EXACTLY as you described and it's still crashing--now, as I
said, it's crashing as it opens up.

Ann,
Let's go over the steps.
1. Rename the the file named SplashIDDatabase.sdb to
SplashIDDatabasesdb.bad.
2. Start the SplashID Desktop which opens with no records.
3. Then do a hotsync with handheld overwrites desktop or synchronize.
4. After the hotsync, your Desktop should have the same records as on your
device.
Is this correct?

Aaron,
Thanks for the info. Yes, the info on my device is fine. I did exactly what
you suggested, but when I opened it again (after syncing "handheld
overwrites desktop") I get the same error and crash--this time just as it's
opening.
Now what?

Ann,
I assume that the data on you device is okay, but the data on your desktop
is corrupted. In you My Documents folder, look for the SplashData folder.
There should be a subfolder for SplasID. Is there a file named
SplashIDDatabase.sdb? This is your SplashID data file for the SplashID
Desktop. Rename the file to SplashIDDatabasesdb.bad. Start the SplashID
Desktop. Since the Desktop won't find the data file, it will create one and
the Desktop will be empty. This is fine. Then do a hotsync with handheld
overwrites desktop or synchronize. After the hotsync, your Desktop should
have the same records as on your device.

I wrote this note here and also to SplashData support on the 14th with no
reply. Can someone help me get my Splash ID working again? I use it daily
(or at least I used to until it started crashing).

My SplashID Desktop 3.32 keeps crashing--I get an error message and I have
to close it. It crashes rather randomly, but mainly when I switch from one
Type to another. Scrolling through most catagories causes it also.
I have re-downloaded the software and re-installed it, but I still get the
same crash.
Help!
